SPARC and our animals rely heavily on the help of people such as you. As a volunteer we invite you to participate in the regular routine of animal care-feeding, cleaning, grooming, walking and so on. Spending time socializing with the animals is particularly important as it gets our animals used to people and helps make them more adoptable.
Other ways you can help out include assisting with events, community outreach, maintenance work around the facility, animal photography/videography, assisting in the office, etc. Please let us know how you would like to get involved and we will put you to work!
For safety reasons, children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who has also attended the orientation. Individuals under 16 may not handle large animals. (Some areas of the shelter may have additional restrictions)
Volunteer orientations will be held at the shelter every first and third Saturday of the month at 11am. Orientations last about an hour and a half and include a power point presentation and guided walk through. If you are interested in attending please fill out and turn in an application to the shelter. The volunteer coordinator will get in touch with you promptly to confirm your spot in the next orientation. If you have any questions about volunteering please contact the SPARC volunteer coordinator at email@example.com.
Orientation now available in Spanish upon request!
